Does anyone know the best way of getting a sound to play in a web page using HTML code? Or would the only option be to use javascript or PHP?
Thanks for any ideas/advice.

Are you saying you want the sound to play automatically when the page is loaded? I'd think the best way to do that would be with the <embed> tag.

Yep. I looked and apparently the &LT;embed> tag has been abandonded or whatever you call that word beginning with d. I thought I might still be able to use it, so tried it, but the intenet settings here at work are being stupid, so I might have a look a bit later when I go home.

OK. I was completely thick! I had to change the security settings in internet options to low and turn off pop up blocker to be able to get the sounds to play, then they worked.

Guys, you can use the following tag:
Replace the hings in perentheses with the symbols:
(Less than) bgsound src(equals)(start quote)(file name and path)(end quote)(greater than)
I use this tag and everything works fine. Just put it after the body tag.
